LinkedInEseye conducted its second annual survey of 500 senior IoT decision-makers in the UK and US to shed light on the status and scale of IoT adoption in 2022. IoT decision-makers shared their experiences with IoT projects in the Smart Vending, Healthcare and Medical Devices, EV Charging and Smart Grid, Supply Chain and Logistics, and Manufacturing industries.
When asked about the benefits IoT initiatives have delivered, smart vending scored highest
(39%) in utilising IoT to create operational efficiencies. This was the leading overall benefit
across all vertical sectors surveyed apart from manufacturing where respondents scored
entering new markets higher.
Intelligent edge hardware was rated as the number one technology driver for this market with 40% of respondents agreeing. Looking ahead, the good news is that 97% of smart vending respondents are planning to increase budgets which was joint highest along with the healthcare and medical devices respondents.
