How Teltiv deployed an IoT solution in 6 months using Eseye’s AnyNet SMARTconnect™.
Teltiv Technologies is a young business that specializes in engineering services for embedded projects in the automotive, avionics, and consumer electronics industries. Its customers needed to embed IoT connectivity into an intelligent battery pack product, which it plans to deploy into multiple African countries, to bring convenient pay-as-you-go power to rural communities.
Consumers will pay a fixed fee to rent the unit, which they can use to charge their electronic devices. The pack utilizes IoT technology to send power usage readings to the Azure cloud, while the cloud sends data back to the microcontroller unit (MCU) to tell it whether the user has enough credit to draw power. The device then decides whether to turn the power on or off.
This innovation has the potential to change thousands of lives, says Teltiv’s founder, Ajith Shenoy.
Straightforward set up enabled Teltiv to create a reliable, encrypted connection without spending weeks writing and debugging code
AnyNet SMARTconnect™ switches automatically to an alternative network if connectivity quality drops.
Maximized availability means the data on energy and consumers’ credit sent to and from the cloud is accurate
With the potential to quickly assemble and roll out millions of units across multiple markets in Africa.
SMARTconnect’s location feature ensures the customer is always aware of where its devices are.

Read case studyWith Eseye’s innovative connectivity solutions, Teltiv successfully turned its vision of affordable, pay-as-you-go power into a reality, bringing vital energy access to rural communities.
The first task for Teltiv and Eseye was to produce a prototype of the battery pack unit, which would be sent to a location in Eastern Kenya to test in the field.
Using AnyNet SMARTconnect™, combined with Eseye’s profound IoT connectivity expertise, enabled Teltiv to deliver the prototype in just three months.
Teltiv also needed a robust connectivity solution that would seamlessly integrate the MCU and Quectel EG25 modem within their device, while ensuring secure, real-time data transmission to the cloud. Eseye’s AnyNet SMARTconnect™ software was the perfect choice, offering a flexible plug-in module that adapts to diverse device designs.
Backed by the global AnyNet Federation, which provides access to over 700 cellular networks in 190 countries, Teltiv’s devices maintain reliable service worldwide, giving end users a seamless experience.
The comprehensive support Teltiv received from Eseye ensured a seamless transition to their new microcontroller. With Eseye’s guidance, the complexities of integrating new technology were significantly reduced, allowing Teltiv to focus on innovation.
The Eseye team’s open-minded approach fostered constructive discussions around challenges, making it easy to address any issues. “They had experienced it all in the past,” Ajith noted, creating a foundation of trust that enhanced the overall project experience.
Eseye’s Infinity IoT Connectivity Management Platform™ underpins the solution, providing Teltiv’s customer with the ability to view and manage connectivity on every device via a single system.
The platform also allows remote, over the air updates to be made to the software in the MCU to introduce new functionality.
